I think that if you’re going to work for a MUSIC NEWS COMPANY, you should probably learn a bit more about electronic music, before going out and calling all of it “dubstep” or “techno” or “electronica” and contributing to a society who’s too lazy to go and research something before looking like a fucking idiot
and also have you noticed that to the general public, they think there’s always one universal term for all electronic music? first it was “techno” back in like the late 80’s/early 90’s. then The Prodigy and Crystal Method and Fatboy Slim got popular in the late 90’s/early 00’s, and the media called it “electronica” for whatever reason. now in Our Year of the Lord 2010-2012 (and going) it’s fucking “dubstep”.
what’s up with that shit people. does no one think to do a bit of research first, or am I just being an asshole about this? idk
